UBC Jane's RideTour Description

Tour Host: Adam Cooper

This cycling tour will focus on the current transportation planning process underway at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

Discussion will focus on the challenges and opportunities for locating a new transit facility on the UBC campus. The tour will highlight current transportation facilities for transit riders, as well as cyclists and highlight a number of high-profile building projects that will affect land use and sustainability at UBC.

Tour Host Bio

Adam Cooper is the program coordinator for the TREK program centre at UBC.

Over the past year, Adam has worked with TREK and UBC's campus and community planning to improve the conditions for cyclists at UBC. His work includes the construction of new cycling facilities and the development of policy aimed at increasing end-of-trip facilities.

Adam is a life-long cyclist who holds a masters degree in urban planning from the school of community and regional planning at UBC.

Special Instructions

Please wear appropriate cycle clothing and bring your own bicycle and helmet.

Be prepared to ride in various conditions, including on road space shared with vehicles.

This tour is not wheelchair accessible.
